Monte Cassino: The Road to Rome
In the beginning of 1944 the Allies fought a five month long battle to open up the road to Rome. Brutal fighting among rugged mountains claimed thousands of lives and made this one of the bloodiest battles of the Second World War. It is known as the Battle of Monte Cassino and this documentary tells us both its history and recounts the personal stories of the men who fought there.
